How We Use Your Data

OMNICART only processes personal information for specific, legitimate business purposes related to our core commerce platform:

  • Provide and maintain operational continuity of all integrated commerce services

  • Successfully process marketplace orders, secure payment settlements, returns, and physical deliveries

  • Authenticate identity, manage merchant rosters, and facilitate buyer account profiles

  • Deliver real-time automated status updates and critical support channels

  • Proactively monitor security anomalies, prevent fraudulent activities, and maintain platform stability

  • Consistently research, optimize, and refine our user flows, platform performance, and tool architectures

  • Ensure strict adherence to applicable financial, regulatory, and legal framework obligations

4.

Cookies & Analytics

We deploy industry-standard cookie protocols to remember system sessions, preserve preferences, and collect anonymous telemetry:

  • Essential Functionality: Required to authenticate users and keep billing carts persistent.

  • Preferences: Remembers localization settings, language rules, and display modes.

  • Analytics: Yields insights on usage, page timings, and interaction densities.

  • Marketing: Customizes optional updates only where explicit user permission has been acquired.

Want to manage your preferences or inspect specific trackers? Read our full Cookie Policy for details.

5.

AI & Data

OMNICART builds native artificial intelligence workflows into the core operating engine of CommerceOS. These systems are strategically deployed to optimize search indexing, refine catalog categorizations, build market trend forecasts, automatically detect structural transaction fraud, and generate helpful inventory insights for merchant operators. All AI models operate under strict data minimisation controls, strict database isolation, and meaningful human oversight to prevent bias or unintended exposure of sensitive merchant or customer data.

6.

How We Share Data

OMNICART shares personal data only with essential partners when strictly necessary to complete commerce processes:

  • Authorized platform merchants when facilitating purchases made inside their specific marketplace environments

  • PCI-compliant payment gateways and integrated mobile money providers to secure transaction settlements

  • Third-party shipping carriers, local fulfillment centers, and geographic route management providers

  • ISO-certified hosting partners, datastore instances, and visual asset CDNs

  • Authorized notification servers and integrated email communication utilities

  • Legal counsel, risk managers, and certified accountants during platform compliance reviews

  • Government institutions, custom clearance boards, and financial regulators where strictly required by local law

Crucial Commitment: OMNICART does not, and will never, sell your personal information or business transaction datasets to third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

7.

Data Security

We safeguard the integrity of our digital parameters utilizing multi-layered technical, physical, and administrative shields:

Encryption & MFA

Data encrypted at rest and in transit via TLS 1.3 and AES-256. MFA enforcement for administrative access.

Least-Privilege Roles

Role-based access controls limits employee data visibility strictly to what is required for their functions.

Tenant Isolation

Strict logic partitions isolate each merchant database, ensuring no cross-exposure of transaction histories.

Monitoring & Incident

Real-time security auditing, secure offsite backups, daily log validation, and structured incident response procedures.

8.

Data Retention

OMNICART retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes detailed in this policy. When the legal foundation or commercial utility of a dataset expires, we systematically delete, purge, or securely anonymize the record to prevent future recovery. Under specific regulatory constraints, we are obligated to retain specific financial transaction logs to comply with legal audit protocols, protect platform security, or resolve historical merchant disputes.

9.

As an OMNICART user, you hold specific legal rights concerning the personal records we process:

Third-Party Services

OMNICART interfaces smoothly with external technical assets—including integrated payment pathways, third-party logistics firms, database CDNs, and optional social media extensions. These connected elements operate outside our baseline boundaries and maintain unique, independent privacy terms. We strongly recommend our users review the unique privacy terms of each third-party tool before activating an interface.

11.

Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants deploying OMNICART marketplaces or CommerceOS to list products and sell goods act as the primary Data Controllers for their customer records. Merchants must provide appropriate privacy notices to their buyers, secure data lawfully, manage platform permissions, protect access keys, and comply with all applicable regional and national data-protection laws.

12.

International Data Transfers

OMNICART manages infrastructure inside and outside national boundaries to provide optimized service delivery across Africa. Your personal records may be processed in states other than the one where they were initially captured. Where cross-border migrations occur, OMNICART implements validated legal instruments—such as Standard Contractual Clauses—to ensure records maintain a level of protection equivalent to their collection origin.

13.

Changes to This Policy

OMNICART reserves the right to adjust this Privacy Policy to reflect modifications in platform architecture, scaling strategies, database structures, or regional compliance frameworks. When material adjustments occur, we will post notice visible inside the platform and update the effective stamp at the head of this document.
